Career Fairs

Every year, there are numerous legal career fairs across the country. These career fairs provide an outstanding opportunity for students to meet with from across the country.  We encourage students to consider attending a variety of career fairs, particularly if they are looking for positions outside of the state or in a highly specialized field.  Job fair event and registration dates are subject to change. Bidding and registration are generally a month or more prior to the fair. For more information, contact Career Development at placement@law.ou.edu.

Career Fair Opportunities

Southern Minority Job Fair

Historically, employers have gathered in Atlanta over a Friday and Saturday in mid-July to interview the students they have preselected from a potential pool of around 600 diverse candidates.  Like on-campus interviews, the students that employers select are scheduled for 20-minute screening interviews in hotel meeting rooms, after which successful candidates are typically invited for call-back interviews.  Employers interview rising 2L and 3L students for summer and permanent jobs which commence a year later, or recent graduates for immediate openings.

Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair

Each year, the National LGBT Bar Association hosts the Lavender Law® Conference and Career Fair to bring together the best and brightest legal minds in the LGBT community. The National LGBT Bar Association’s annual Lavender Law® Career Fair is designed to achieve a sense of community and inclusion for LGBT candidates within the legal profession’s recruiting efforts. By participating in this career fair, candidates will talk directly to LGBT-friendly recruiters from law firms, government agencies, LGBT rights groups, and corporate legal departments.  Candidates are encouraged to discuss their identity and their aspirations to become part of a bias-free work environment. Sponsors are encouraged to take this opportunity to showcase their diversity efforts to top-level law students and lateral candidates from around the country.
