The American Bar Association (ABA) Law Student Division administers four competitions serving over 1,300 students nationwide each year. In July, Professor Connie Smothermon was reappointed as Co-Chair of the National Competitions Committee. The committee is made up of fifteen professors from around the U.S. and four ABA staff members. The committee oversees the administration of the four ABA student competitions. Smothermon has served on this committee for eight years, with three of those as chair.
The ABA has also hired two OU Law professors to write the national competitions problems. Professor Erin Means is writing the fact patterns for the regional and national negotiation competition and Professor Connie Smothermon is co-authoring the regional and national client counseling fact patterns.
Congratulations to Professors Means and Smothermon!
