OU Law Professor Monika Ehrman

Monika U. Ehrman, associate professor of law and faculty director of the Oil and Gas, Natural Resources, and Energy Center at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, has been named the 2018 Professor in Residence by the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.

Ehrman is the eighth professor to earn this honor. OU Law Professor Emeritus Owen Anderson was selected as AIPN’s fourth Professor in Residence in 2014.

AIPN is an independent not-for-profit association supporting international energy negotiators around the world. It created the Professor in Residence appointment to encourage greater participation by Education Advisory Board members at the association.

Ehrman will act as an ambassador for AIPN and serve as a liaison between its membership at large and the student community. She will attend three AIPN events around the world over the next year and will have an article describing her experience published by AIPN at the end of her year in residence. She also will provide input on how the association can improve or expand its role in the international oil and gas industry and in academia.

In addition to her writings on international energy policy and law, Ehrman teaches International Petroleum Transactions and Energy Negotiations at OU Law. She is active in the AIPN and will serve as chair of the Inaugural International Petroleum Scholar Workshop, which will be held following the association’s International Petroleum Summit this year in London.
